3 Years to Strengthen Learning

During this coherent cycle of learning, the child explores all the Montessori materials at their disposal. They learn alongside a dedicated and attentive teaching team, committed to supporting their explorations.

The materials are divided into 5 main areas of work:

  • Practical Life (motor skills and autonomy)

  • Sensorial Life (refining the senses)

  • Language Area (reading and writing)

  • Mathematics Area (algebra and geometry)

  • Discovery of the World Area (geography, botany, nature, science)

The environment is clean, orderly, and well-kept. The materials are respected and handled with care.

The class consists of 25 children

No, this number is not excessive for a Montessori class.

In fact, the Montessori method, when applied correctly, recommends environments with a sufficient number of children.

Why?

Simply to ensure the pedagogy works at its best! And let's remember, Montessori classrooms once had up to 40 children!

It all comes down to discipline and respect for the environment. And this is exactly what Montessori pedagogy teaches us: DISCIPLINE and RESPECT for our surroundings!

Fostering French Language Learning

We are committed to placing the French language at the heart of our educational program.

Our goal is to create an environment that encourages exploration of the language while reinforcing the fundamental aspects of French, which may sometimes be underemphasized in children's educational journeys. Developing oral and written fluency is one of our top priorities.

Aware of the importance of language skills in expression within children's school lives, we believe it is essential to strengthen these foundations from an early age.

A bilingual environment

English learning begins in early childhood through total immersion in Montessori environments. Our students also benefit from various regular workshops throughout the school year, led by our permanent team as well as by specialized speakers. This fun and interactive approach promotes the acquisition of language skills.

THE PRACTICAL LIFE AREA

The Practical Life area is the first space children will explore upon their arrival.

Initially, they will engage with preliminary exercises designed to prepare them for the everyday movements they will use in the classroom, such as carrying a chair, moving around, placing a chair under a table, folding and unfolding a mat, and carrying a tray.

Later, the Practical Life area includes various exercises focused on taking care of the environment they interact with, as well as exercises dedicated to self-care.

The purpose of these activities is to root the children in daily life experiences, helping them become independent in carrying out tasks they will use every day.

Through these exercises, children refine their motor skills, engage in logical thinking when selecting and using items on the tray to perform a specific action, and gain confidence in themselves.

They also learn to take responsibility for themselves and their environment. Additionally, children expand their vocabulary by learning the names of each item on the tray at the beginning of each activity.

THE LANGUAGE AREA

Language enables children to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and connect with others. It is essential that even at a young age, children hold the keys to language, which will help them decode their environment and engage with it.

In the Language area, you will find materials designed to enrich the child's vocabulary, allowing them to name their understanding of the world around them.

This area also includes all the materials for writing, such as the tactile letters that children learn to trace while associating them with a specific sound.

As they progress, they will be able to form words using the movable alphabet, since they now recognize the sound of each letter.

Next comes reading, where children decipher the sound of each letter in a word.

Once a child is comfortable with reading, they can begin exploring basic grammar concepts and analyzing sentence structure.

THE SENSORY AREA

Sensorial materials play a crucial role in the development of a child’s intelligence, as knowledge is first acquired through the senses.

By interacting with these materials, the child creates their own sensory perceptions, which help them make sense of the world around them.

These activities enable the child to refine their senses and connect their experiences with the objects they manipulate.

Initially, the child forms mental images based on sensory experiences, and later, we introduce vocabulary to help them label and express these experiences.

In this area, we engage the children in exercises such as matching, sorting, and gradation, using materials that help them refine their ability to perceive differences in size, shape, color, texture, and sound. After each exercise, we name the sensory experiences to introduce precise language.

To keep the child engaged, we also incorporate games before or after vocabulary introduction, reinforcing their understanding and keeping their interest active.

THE AREA OF MATHEMATICS

To learn mathematical concepts, children interact with specially designed mathematical materials. Through hands-on manipulation, they create concrete sensory images that lead to the emergence of specific concepts related to the activity.

This process allows the child to move from a concrete learning experience, through manipulation, to an abstract understanding as the concept is integrated.

In this area, children learn to count, write numbers, and recognize them.

They are introduced to the decimal system and begin to perform operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

This foundational work enables them to develop mental calculation skills.

These young learners are true budding mathematicians counting to a million is within their reach!

DISCOVERING THE WONDERS OF NATURE

At our school, we encourage children to develop a deep respect for nature. By teaching them to appreciate the natural world, we inspire them to care for it.

We explore topics such as geography, botany, and science, all tailored to the children's developmental stage.

Using specialized materials for these subjects, we help children engage with and understand the world around them.

In this area, we conduct experiments to explore the living world, and we use puzzles in the classroom to study the parts of plants and animals.

We also have figurines that teach the life cycle of both plants and animals.

As the months go by, the children's discoveries continue to unfold, and their sense of wonder grows week by week.

For them, the beauty of life and nature becomes truly remarkable!
