Welcome to the wonderful world of little explorers! Adapting to school is a significant and sometimes intimidating step for children. However, with a lot of kindness and patience, each day can become a new and exciting adventure!
We are here to guide the little ones through this adaptation process, providing the necessary support to ensure a smooth transition.
Together, let’s create precious memories and make this first school experience joyful, enriching, and full of discoveries!
Very Young Section - Children's Community
A Stimulating Environment from the Earliest Age
The children's community is a unique space where children aged 2 to 3 can develop their intellect, movement, and language.
Children build their self-confidence by working individually at their own pace with specific materials that foster creativity, logic, and a sense of responsibility.
Tasks such as watering plants help children develop important skills while enhancing their focus and concentration.
Each day, children grow more confident by completing tasks completely independently.
They quickly learn the core principles of the children's community: patience, politeness, and respect.
Between the ages of 2 and 3, children explore the world around them, enrich their language, improve their motor skills, open up to others, and have an intense desire to do everything on their own!
The children's community meets their needs through an environment and materials carefully tailored to foster their growth.
Children are part of a true Montessori classroom, equipped exclusively with Montessori materials. This environment stands in clear contrast to that of a nursery, offering a unique learning approach.
PRACTICAL LIFE and PERSONAL CARE
This area helps children develop essential life skills through activities like cleaning, dressing, and caring for the environment - wiping or washing a table, sweeping, arranging a bouquet, … It encourages independence, concentration, and coordination.
THE LANGUAGE AREA
In this area, children explore reading, writing, and language development through Montessori materials, fostering both oral and written communication – nomenclatures, sound analysis game, reading corner and many more.
THE SENSORIAL AREA
Here, children engage with materials that help refine their senses—sight, touch, sound, smell, and taste. This area fosters sensory awareness and discrimination.
ART AND CREATIVE EXPRESSION

This space encourages creativity through drawing, painting, music, and other forms of self-expression, enhancing cognitive and emotional development.

The Children's Community
An Important Milestone for Young Children
It’s quite common to think that children might be a little too young to enter what is considered the “school system.”
However, many children are ready to join an environment focused on self-development and personal growth.
Being part of an environment where kindness and a child’s individual rhythm are respected can be particularly beneficial for their overall development.
A nurturing, supportive space is essential for a child’s steady and serene progression.
Building confidence, fostering independence, and learning to live harmoniously with their peers are at the heart of our mission in the Children's Community. These values help prepare children for a smooth and confident transition to preschool.
Each child, depending on their age and level of independence, requires an adjustment period. We are committed to honoring this need and kindly ask for your availability during the first few days.
A Purposefully Designed Environment
A Thoughtful Setting for Little Ones!
The environment is carefully organized and adapted to the children’s age to ensure it is both comforting, orderly, and reassuring.
Children join a true classroom, fully equipped with Montessori materials, providing a unique learning setting. This classroom environment is distinctly different from that of a daycare, as it fosters independence and creativity. Here, children are free to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace while benefiting from a teaching method tailored to their needs. It is a space where personal growth lies at the heart of learning.
Learning in Everyday Life!
It is essential that a child’s daily activities stimulate their focus while developing both fine and gross motor skills. This contributes to strengthening the brain's executive functions, providing valuable support for their future academic journey.
This environment is carefully prepared with discovery spaces: practical life, sensory activities, language development, as well as motor skills and artistic activities.
The environment is thoughtfully designed with the arrangement of objects, organization, logic, and the gradual progression of small exercises to foster the development of motor skills, independence, and awakening in your child.
The space includes a kitchen and meal area where your child learns to use utensils and practice table manners. There is also a resting area for naps and a changing space to encourage the development of toilet training.
For each stage of development, one or more materials, each with a specific purpose, are offered. These educational materials nurture the child’s sensitive periods. They are not yet intended for formal instruction but serve as tools for development.
In this environment, the activities are structured with a clear objective, aiming for refinement and perfection. These activities are placed on shelves or wooden trays and are regularly updated to stimulate the child’s curiosity.
Once a child has mastered walking, they can choose and handle their tray. After settling at a small individual table or on a mat on the floor, they have the freedom to take as much time as they need to complete their activity, repeating it as often as they wish.
Throughout the day, outdoor time is organized to foster the child’s connection with nature and the world around them. Learning connections will be made through direct observations and experiences during these outdoor moments. Two adults, including a Montessori-trained educator for the 0-3 age group, accompany the children through their sensitive periods:

Sensitive periods are "phases during which the child shows a particular focus on objects or activities, enabling them to develop specific skills or characteristics."
English Immersion
English learning begins in early childhood through total immersion in both French and English. The activities we offer are designed to integrate these two languages, promoting a natural and engaging learning experience. This approach enables children to develop their language skills while thriving in a stimulating environment conducive to their personal growth.
A Typical Day
MORNING

Personalized welcome for 2–3-year-olds by their educator, with children beginning activities in their environment as parents depart.

Montessori work cycle in the environment.

Light snack and outdoor work cycle: motor skills, gardening, nature exploration.
NOON

11:15-11:30 AM: Lunch, with hot or cold packed meals provided by parents (currently searching for a meal delivery service).

12:00-3:00 PM: Clean-up after lunch and preparation for nap time.

12:15-2:30 PM: Nap time (gradual wake-up starting at 2:00 PM).
AFTERNOON

2:30-3:15 PM: Workshops (yoga, theater, arts, motor skills, nature, etc.).

3:15-3:30 PM: Preparation for parents' arrival.

3:30 PM: End of the day, parents' pick-up, children’s departure.

3:30-4:30 PM: After-school care.
